Description
Beal ESCAPER
This detachable rappelling device allows you to descend on a single strand and still retrieve the rope.
The Beal Escaper is a prussik-like system that locks the rope and keeps it locked while it is under tension. When the tension is lifted off the rope, the user can make the Beal Escaper system unravel by giving it gentle pulls and releases. This will then allow the Beal Escaper to release the rope, and the system then slides through the anchor so that everything falls down the rock.
A detachable rappelling device for all ropes
The ESCAPER rappel system allows you to rappel down a single strand of rope and then retrieve it. It works with all ropes with a diameter greater than 7.3mm. Compact and quick to install, its textile construction also makes it very light. We strongly advise familiarizing yourself with its use before your first outing. It then becomes the essential equipment for all mountain enthusiasts!
When should the ESCAPER rappelling device be used?
The ESCAPER detachable rappelling system can be used in a range of situations:
– The need to rappel when only a single rope is available.
– When one of the two rappelling strands is defective and unusable.
– In freeride or ski-mountaineering, when the abseiling rope is too short to be used in two strands.
