Auteur(s) : Patrick Gimat – 2018
This books features 6 walks, 10 aquatic walks and 104 canyons, including 2 extremely difficult (quotation VI) and 8 very difficult (quotation V).
If the canyons of Sierra de Guara are so famous, it is certainly not a coincidence. It is this area of the Spanish Pyrenees that was described in the the first guidebook in the history of canyoning. Today, the Sierra de Guara is a “Mecca of Canyoning”. Indeed, the canyons exceed the simple sporting experience, and we can not remain indifferent to these exceptional landscapes.
Patrick Gimat, connoisseur of the region, has traveled for many years in all directions. In this book he describes an impressive number of varied descends. This guidebook, in French, is therefore the reference book for the occasional practitioner wanting to discover the most beautiful canyons, as for the experienced practitioner, who will be surprised to discover the wealth of descents in this region.
For most descents, an access plan, a schematic profile, a brief presentation of the route, a description of access and descent will be available. A summary insert specifies the technical characteristics of the canyon (geology, travel time, difficulties, materials, etc.).
This book is the re-impression of the 2007 book. The author told us that he made corrections and added a few pages of color photos.
